• The Bulldogs opened up PFL play last Saturday with a 28-25 victory over Morehead State to improve to 2-2 on the season with both losses coming to nationally ranked opponents.
• That win saw fifth-year senior quarterback Mike Piatkowski become Drake’s all-time leading passer as he now has 8,106 career yards. He added three touchdown strikes against MSU to move closer to the school record in that category as well with 61 career TD passes.
• Campbell is 1-3 on the season after falling, 35-14, last Saturday in the PFL opener to Butler. The Fighting Camels own a victory over UVA-Wise and have been beaten by Shorter and nationally ranked Old Dominon.
• The Camels enter the game ranked second in the PFL in rushing at 169.3 yards per game. However the squad’s defense has allowed 465.8 yards and 34 points per game this season.
• Drake’s offense is currently ranked fourth in the PFL and is led by Piatkowski who ranks 14th nationally in total offense with 284.3 yards per game with a pair of 300-yard games under his belt already this season.
• Against Morehead State, the Bulldogs’ rushing attack got in gear as Gary Scott, Jr. ran for 119 yards on 28 carries. It was his second 100-yard game of the season and his career.
• Saturday’s game will feature two of the PFL’s most effective defenses in terms of getting to the quarterback. Drake leads the PFL and is sixth in the nation in sacks with 14 this season while Campbell has racked up 11 sacks.
• Drake leads the all-time series with the Camels by a 4-0 margin and won the only meeting between the two in Buies Creek, N.C., 14-12, on October 16, 2010.
