The squad is coming off a win over ranked Wichita State on Tuesday and has non-conference wins over ranked Miami and Mississippi teams. • The Bulldogs hit the home hardwood after defeating Southern Illinois, 61-56, on Wednesday for their fourth win in the last six games to improve to 4-6 in the MVC and 10-11 overall. • Drake shot 50 percent from the field in the win over the Salukis and 53.3 percent from three-point range. On the season, the Bulldogs are converting from the arc at a 39.2 percent clip to rank 16th nationally in three-point shooting. • Chris Hines was 4-of-8 from the arc in the win at SIU for a team-high 12 points. Jordan Clarke continued his steady play of late with 11 points and six rebounds. Clarke ranks second in the MVC in rebounding with 8.1 boards per game. • Ben Simons leads Drake in scoring at 14.1 points per game on 43.2 percent shooting. Freshman Micah Mason has been the team’s top three-point threat, converting on 50.8 percent of his attempts. • Indiana State is led by the tandem of Jake Odum and Manny Arop with 13.9 and 13.2 points per game, respectively. Odom adds 4.3 assists per game while shooting 47 percent from the floor. • The Sycamores have won four of their last five outings, with the lone loss in that span coming at Illinois State. A victory would ... • Make Drake 11-11 on the season and 5-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. • Be Drake’s fifth in its last seven games. • Make Drake 36-40 against the Sycamores and 15-5 against them in the Knapp Center. • Be head coach Mark Phelps’ 73rd at Drake, the sixth most in Drake history. • Be the Bulldogs’ seventh home victory of the season • Be the 1,160t in program history. A Loss would ... • Drop Drake to 10-12 on the season and 4-7 in the MVC. • Be Drake’s third Valley home loss of the season. • Be the Bulldogs’ eighth loss in its last 10 games against the Sycamores. • Make Drake 35-41 all-time against Indiana State. • Be the Sycamores’ second straight over Drake.
