There can't be a high school homecoming football game without a homecoming parade. Valley High School's parade was held this evening in West Des Moines in preparation for the Tigers' homecoming game Friday night against Fort Dodge at Valley Stadium. The football players and cheerleaders rode on fire trucks as the parade weaved through its route near the stadium. Also aboard a fire truck were members of Valley's state championship basketball team from last season. It was a great show. But you knew it would be. After all, there's never been a bad homecoming parade. Valley's football team is unbeaten and ranked No. 1 among the state's class 4-A teams.
