No. 1 was all over the place tonight at the Bill Coldiron Fieldhouse on the Valley High School campus in West Des Moines. Valley's fifth-ranked girls' team upset No. 1-ranked Waukee, 62-59, then Valley's No. 1-ranked boys' team defeated Waukee, 77-63. "Q for Two!" was heard a lot from the public address announcer during the boys' game. "Q" is Quinton Curry, a 6-foot 6--inch Tiger junior who scored 28 points and was a huge factor on defense, too. Carlo Marble contributed 18 points and Turner Scott 16 for unbeaten Valley. Drew Johnson had 19 for Waukee. Hannah Fuller connected for 19 points and Jackie Feldt 16 for Valley's girls. Obviously, both Waukee and Valley have powerful girls' basketball programs. Waukee defeated Valley in the class 5-A state championship game last season at Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines. "This is a coach who is very proud of his TEAM," Valley coach Joe Sigrist tweeted after tonight's game. A few of the sights from the well-played and well-attended doublleheader at Valley:
