This is the way I'm looking at it:
The Chicago Cubs waited until the first night of November to play their best game of a 2016 season that began April 3.
The Cubs needed success in a must-win situation, and they got it.
Addison Russell drilled a grand-slam and drove in six runs; Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo also homered, and Jake Arrieta pitched well enough to win his second game of the World Series in the Cubs' 9-3 victory tonight over Cleveland in Game 6.
Then there's this:
The Cubs will need to play an even better game Wednesday night to win their first World Series since 1908.
Naturally, I'm thinking the Cubs will win.
Well, why not?
Heck, in my book they've been baseball's team of destiny all season.
Surely Joe Maddon--the Cubs manager every clown from gambler/goofball Pete Rose to Daffy Duck and Minnie Mouse have criticized for over-using relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman in tonight's blowout--and pitcher Kyle Hendricks will figure out some way to beat the Indians in tomorrow's winner-take-all seventh game.
I'm expecting a classic.
